Good Bye to the Jr. High Golfers!!!

It has been a fun two months.  We have had a very good record with both the boys and girls.  The boys won all team

matches and the girls team had two wins, one 2nd place, and one third place win.  Congratulations!!!  Keep

working on your game.  Have a fun summer.

 

If you aren't a member of the club maybe you need to think about becoming a member.

There are Jr. memberships and if your parents want to get in  a circle I don't think you can beat the price per month.

IT'S THE BEST KEPT SECRET IN MCCURTAIN COUNTY.  There are numerous activities at the club:  Golf, Tennis, Swimming,

Parties, and Gary and Vicki's food is wonderful.  IT IS THE PLACE TO BE.

Our Jr. High Golf Tournament--April 22nd

Congratulations to our Jr. High Golfers.  The girls team won 1st place--Maddie Lehr-1st place shooting a 40,   Ali White- 2nd place shooting a 41, Chloe Moyer-3rd place shooting a 53, and Emilee Wicker -56- 7th place.  Other girls playing were:  Samantha Wolf, Callie Bryant, and Isa Allen.

 

The boys team won 1st place--Nick Stauter won 2nd place shooting a 38, Jason O'Rear won 3rd place shooting 41, Taylor Nichols won 4th place shooting a 43, Nick Sparkman 7th place shooting a 47, and Dalton Stacey won 8th place shooting a 47.  Other  boys playing were: Jonathan Falling, Crew Green, Garrett Butler, Nick Procell, Brasen Raney, Chance Jones, Bradley Robertson, Kase Nix, and Cameron Womack.

 

Thanks for all that help me with this tournament:   Ricky Self, David De Berry, David White,  Steve Bryant, and Butch Bryant .  Thanks to the Seniors that helped score:  Anne Roeber, Lanelle Strickland, Mel and Karen Cohen, Shirley Butler, Phyllis Demorrow, Buck John, Hal Jones, David Jones, Don Lewis, Don Hayne,  Bill Bolin, and John Farley.  Also thanks to Sally ( our club secretary that seems to get me whatever I need).

 

Students we will have two more days of golf:  Monday and Tuesday.  We will play a scramble on Monday.

 

Hope we have increased your knowledge about golf, have taught you about good golf etiquette, and how to keep your composure when your game isn't going just right.

Ardmore Tournament -Cancelled for April 26th

I cancelled out of the Ardmore Tournament for April 26th.  We had too many kids out for the Curriculum Contest.

 

Hope you are practicing for our Tournament on Thursday.  We will have practice tomorrow (Wed.).  Everyone is

playing on our team except those students that are going to the Track Meet.  Be sure and get the Emergency

Care of a Minor notarized and turned in to me tomorrow if you want to play in our tournament.  Mrs. Brock said

this is a must.  We will all be playing the front side on Thursday.  Ricky said we could not close the course.

A hotdog cook-out is planned after the tournament.  I would like to have volunteers to go around with the golfers

and do their scoring.  Please contact me if you have a golf cart and can do this.

 

April 27th will be our last date for golf.

Students that need their Emergency Care of a Minor notarized are:

Chance Jones ( you need this filled out and an Information Sheet)

 

These should have been notarized after the first meeting we had in Feb.. I can hand the Emergency

Care of a Minor form back to you at practice on Monday and your parents can get them notarized

and back to me by Tuesday or Wed.. You won't be able to play Thursday unless I have it back.

Middle School has a lady (Donna) that can notarize and I'm sure Denison School has someone that can notarize.

This sheet just covers the school in case something happens to you while you are playing golf.  It has

a list of allergies etc. that should be filled out.

 

Shilo Burgess and Brett Houchin-- I need a copy of the Emergency Care of a Minor from you two as well for the

Ardmore tournament on the 26th.  It has to be notarized.  You may already have one and if so I need to take that

form when to go on the 26th.

 

Is there some kind of Honor's Program Thursday that might cause students to not be able to play golf?  Please

let me know.

April 22nd-We are hosting a Jr. High Golf Tournament.

All Jr. High Golfers will be playing in our tournament April 22nd.  I need to know by Monday if you plan to play or go to the

Track Meet at Denison.  I need some parents to do scoring on that day.  Please let me know if you can help.  Ricky is going

Jr. High Boy's and Girl's Golf Tournament at McAlester-4-13-2010

Results:  Boys won 1st team with a 169,  2nd-McAlester 206, and 3rd went to Durant with a 228.  Our plaque is in the entrance

to the Club House (check it out).  Taylor Nichols--1st with a 39, Nick Stauter--2nd with a 42, Dalton Stacey--3rd with a 43,

Jason O'Rear --6th with a 45, and Nick Sparkman 7th place with a 47.  

 

Girls won 2nd team with a 220 and lost to Poteau by one stroke.  Their plaque also is in the entrance.  Hannah Ward from Poteau

won 1st with a 41 score, Ali White won 2nd with a 45, Maddie Lehr won 3rd with a 51, Chloe Moyer won 10th place with a  61. 

Other girls going were Morgan Fox and Emilee Wicker.  Each golfer that placed received a medal.

 

Idabel Jr. High will host a tournament on April 22nd at 3:00 p.m..  Come out and see some good golfers.  Our last tournament will

be April 26th at Ardmore.

Trip to McAlester Tuesday April 13th

Students I would like to know what parents are going to go to McAlester on April 13th.  If you plan to go with

another girl/boy a transportation form has to be filled out and notarized.  Sally will have a copy in the Pro Shop

and I also have some.  Please work on your game between now and Monday.  We will be playing Monday at 3:30-5:00 p.m..

Lunch will be served after play at McAlester.  Parents can buy lunch for $5.00.  Please plan to wear:  red shirts and black

pants or shorts.  Dress in layers.  It may be cold in the a.m..  We tee off at 9:00 a.m.. I have a coaches meeting at 8:30 a.m..

Let's make them know where Idabel is!!!!

Girls going to McAlester on Tuesday are:

We had qualifying for Jr. High boys Wed. and Thursday.  Number 3,4,&5 players had to qualify with 18 holes.   Then I had to

make a decision as to what number the boys will play on the 13th.

McAlester--April 13th

Jr. High Boys and Girls will be going to McAlester April 13th.  I will post students names that will be attending

 by Sat..  We have three more tournaments:  McAlester April 13th, Idabel will host a tournament April 22nd after school, and

we will go to Lakeview at Ardmore April 26th.  This will finish up our Jr. High Tournaments.

 

I'd like to thank all students, parents, and Coach Ricky for helping with this program.
