High School Golf Update

Just a note to let you know how the team is coming along this Fall. It has been eight days since the team went to Texarkana to see Geoff Jones. Geoff made DVDs of their lessons, I have some of the DVDs that were not picked up.
Geoff stressed the need to make changes to their swings by doing a drill he calls 3 to 9. He also told them that he did some extensive work with a sport psychologist named Chuck Hogan. Mr. Hogan told him that for kids to make a change it required 21 straight days of hitting 60 shots with total focus. I can make sure that the kids will hit their shots Monday through Friday but it's up to them to do the drills on the weekend. I am pleased to say that almost all did their drills this weekend. (GREAT JOB) We will continue working on the drills the rest of the week but here is the tough part. During Fall break again they will be on their own. I will have a sign up sheet in the pro shop for those who are in town to sign when they do their drills. Sticking with it for 21 days will be quite an accomplishment. (Doing anything 21 straight days is a tough task. Ask anyone who has been on a diet) According to Geoff if you miss a day it's like starting over, so let's hang in there.

Zach Myers competed in Tulsa this weekend and shot 74-72 for a sixth place finish. Super Job !

More about The Red River Classic coming up at the end of Oct. (later)
