The boys team traveled to Durant on Friday to play in the Durant Middle School Invitational. The teams represented were Durant, Idabel, Allen and Madill. We had a team of five and one individual representing Idabel. The players were Hayden Ward, Brett Houchin,Taylor Nichols, Nick Stauter and Bryce Shaw. The individual was Shilo Burgess. The weather was tough wet and windy . The course was equally tough with several water hazards and creeks throughout.
The team finished first with a score of 352, easily outpacing the competition. We were fortunate enough to also win all five of the individual awards. The winners were as follows:Bryce Shaw 78, Shilo Burgess 88, Taylor Nichols 90, Nick Stauter 91, Brett Houchin 93.
The boys and girls will play again on the 6Th of April at Idabel Country club in the Idabel Middle School Invitational. We have invited several teams but at this point do not know who will be playing. All boys and girls will have a chance to play, so mark your calendars and come watch. Girls will play 9 and boys will play 18 holes.

Durant Tourn.

Today we tried to get another qualifying round in but the rain had other ideas.
So we had to go back to our Monday qualifier. The following people will play on Friday in Durant.

All players must have their physical forms and emergency auth filled out and turned in.

Team info:

• Tournament at Durant CC at 9:00
• 18 holes
• Friday March 27
• Team will leave from the Idabel CC parking lot at 5:45AM
• Please wear white shirts and cacky pants
• The school provides transportation but no other money for balls, lunch etc.
• The tournament will provide burgers after play.

Update

Wednesday, March 25

Good morning,

First an update from the girls tournament in Sulphur. Both Maddie and Allie played well yesterday and finished 6Th and 7Th out of about 70 girls. Congratulations to both girls.
We have now had practices for both the boys and girls. Both practices went very well. I am very impressed by both groups attitude and conduct. Good job parents!
We learned late yesterday that the boys will play in Durant on Friday. (no time yet).
The top five qualifiers will go to Durant. We have played one qualifying round and will play one more today.(weather permitting). If we do not get to play today then
Monday's round will be our final qualifier.

Meeting Notes

February 23,

• Golf Teams will consist of 5 players
• There will be a boys team and girls team
• Idabel CC Junior golf fund will provide money for the teams (not Idabel Schools)
• This is an after school class and all school rules apply
• Coaches are:Ricky Self -Lacey Jones Cox- Vic Pedrola-Roy Kates- Peggy Dugan
• School Representative is David White
• Idabel CC will not require players to have a junior membership during school practices
• Scholarships for Junior golfing memberships will be available (additional info coming)
• This program will be conducted like all other school related sports (not like summer jr golf)
• OSSAA rules will apply
• There may be a cut (that will be determined later)
• Boys will practice on Monday and Wednesday with a voluntary practice on Friday
• Girls will practice on Tuesday and Thursday with a voluntary practice on Friday
• Please note that Friday practices do not make up for absences on missed days
• Practice will be from 3:00-4:30
• Players must be picked up at 4:30 THE SCHOOLS RESPONSIBILITY IS OVER AT 4:30 !!!!!
• There will be no excused absences
• If a child misses a practice they will have to run (on their time) to make up the miss. A child will be suspended from practicing if they have missed two practices that have not been made up. Fridays practice is not a make up for missed practices !!!!
• We will try to play in two tournaments one at home on April 6Th and one other to be arranged.
• Our goal is to teach as many kids as possible to play the game of golf. Our secondary goal is to win several State Championships. We would like to see the kids be able to play in some National Tournaments by the time the reach their Senior year.
